While you are an active client of C.W. Training, I feel a responsibility for all of your horse's behaviors; both good and bad. You and your horse represent our training techniques and philosophies whether you are practicing in the arenas, touring the ranch or exploring the trails. We ask that you always be considerate, and keenly aware, of the safety of all people and horses around you.

Charles Wilhelm Training will meet with the owner each month to conduct an evaluation of progress and discuss upcoming training and rider/handler objectives.

The extent of the horse’s training is ultimately only as good as the owner/rider’s practice of what they are taught at Charles Wilhelm Training. Thus, the training of the horse is guaranteed to the last day of the horse’s training here. Once the horse leaves Charles Wilhelm Training Center its continued success depends on the owner/rider.

To protect our clients training investment, only Charles Wilhelm trainers and coaches will be allowed to school your horse(unless there is an exception in the written contract). Do not experiment with outside advice during the term of the contract as it may impede with the progress of you and your horse.

Please provide Charles Wilhelm Training with a list of owner approved handlers which may include veterinarian, chiropractor, dentist, friends, family etc. Be sure to inform us of any appointments in advance so that the horse is available. We reserve the right to refuse non-owner access to the horse if the handing could interfere with the desired results of training. No outside farriers are to be used without management approval as an exception only. Only Charles Wilhelm training farriers will be used.

To fulfill each owner’s training goals, Charles Wilhelm Training requires that they commit to a minimum of two monthly riding /handling lessons. These may be scheduled as semi-private or group lessons or may be supervised practice sessions. All horses in training or boarding must have safe ground manners that include leading tying, farrier, trailer loading and stall manners.

All horses in training and boarding must have safe trail manners that include responsive stop and go forward cues with a relaxed walk to and from the barn. If not, the owner/boarder will be given thirty days written notice to correct the behavior without relying on mechanical devices such as stud chains, twitches, bungee cords, tie-downs, harsh bits etc. If such adverse behaviors persist, a training contract must be initiated to include these problems at the normal cost for such training. (See Training Fee Schedule)

In the event that the horse is sold or training is discontinued by the owner with written request and/or is leaving Charles Wilhelm Training with a written request for any reason and the problem or stated training objectives have not been completed the owner will be responsible for any percentage of training that has been provided or completed. (To be determined by Charles Wilhelm Training)

All outstanding statements must be paid and current before any horse leaves the premises, no exception, this includes boarders as well as horses in training. In addition, every horse in training must have an Exit Review form signed by the owner prior to release. You may be required to pay the final fees by cashiers check or cash if this is not a planned departure. If fees are not paid at departure any resulting attorney /court fees will be at the horse owners expense. Please let us know the time and day your horse will be leaving, Charles must be present when you take your horse home.
